Get Started Overview
Get your Sail integration up and running with the core setup required for any Sail use case. By the end of this quickstart, you’ll have a working foundation and can continue with the integration guide that matches your use case.
Before you start
Make sure you know which integration path you’re building:
-
Expenses: connect merchant and card accounts to get item-level expense data.
-
Classification: push your own transactions and get eligibility results back.
-
Account connection: connect HSA/FSA administrator accounts to read balances, activity, and deposit credentials.
Each path uses different API endpoints and key scopes, but all three start with the same setup steps below.
Get an API key
Get the credentials you need to authenticate with the Sail API.
Create a user
Create a Sail user mapped to your internal identity. All data in Sail is scoped to a user, so this is a prerequisite for every API call that follows.
Set up webhooks
Configure your endpoint so Sail can notify your application when new data is available.
